Advises organizations and U.S. federal agencies on strategy, operations and communications in complex political and security environments, bringing expertise in risk analysis, organizational assessments, program design, consortium building and monitoring and evaluation.
As a contractor at the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), she assessed and advised on political and conflict risk, civil society organizations, monitoring and evaluation and program design across Eastern Europe and Africa. For Catholic Relief Services (CRS), she analyzed security issues in the Central African Republic and Guinea to inform the design of peacebuilding programs and evaluated residential care facilities for children in Haiti and their capacities to transition into nonresidential activities. She worked in Mali for FHI 360 where she interviewed and assessed potential consortium partners, organized and conducted a focus group and advised on program design for a $12 million USAID program to support youth. She served as a lead writer for program proposals on agricultural value chains, trade opportunities, education and food security that secured over $80 million from the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) for CRS and Global Communities. She has developed and implemented consortia with civil society organizations in Cameroon, Morocco, South Africa and Tanzania.
She has reported on economic and social impacts of metal production in communities across the United States to support corporate clients and led communications and monitoring and evaluation initiatives to showcase institutional partnerships with schools, hospitals and emergency food assistance programs in Iraq, Syria, Egypt, Lebanon, Jordan, Ukraine, India, Eritrea, Ethiopia and Gaza, West Bank and Israel.
She teaches courses on international security issues in the Department of Political Science at Columbia University and has held research positions at the Harvard Kennedy School, Stanford's Center for International Security and Cooperation (CISAC), the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars, the Harriman Institute at Columbia University and the Kroc Institute at the University of Notre Dame. Her articles on armed conflict and civil-military strife have appeared in Comparative Political Studies, The Journal of Modern African Studies and Sicherheit und Frieden (Security and Peace). She is bilingual in French and reads Croatian, Serbian and Russian. She received her Ph.D. in Politics from Princeton University.

He served as a contractor for the U.S. Department of Energy's Office of Fossil Energy and Carbon Management, writing policy briefs and reports about emerging technologies for net-zero carbon emissions, clean hydrogen production, domestic critical minerals sourcing and Congressional hearings on carbon management and clean energy policy.
As a consultant at the World Bank, he developed communications strategies to support the launch of the Climate-Smart Mining Initiative (CSM) with partners Rio Tinto, Anglo American and the German government, contributing to content on decarbonizing mineral production for the clean energy transition, and wrote material about mining operations deploying renewable energy and sharing surplus electricity with communities across Africa, Latin America, and Asia.
He worked based in Riyadh with APCO Worldwide advising Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Economy and Planning on communications strategies to showcase the Kingdom's initiatives under Vision 2030 to diversify the economy away from oil and lead in clean energy, mining, sustainability and Artificial Intelligence (AI). He undertook media analysis and contributed to content for public, corporate and investor audiences in Saudi Arabia and overseas. He also worked closely with the team in Riyadh on media outreach and communications to publicize the ministry's participation at the World Economic Forum in Davos. At Edelman based in Jakarta, he worked on communications and media outreach to support the United Nations Development Programme's REDD+ initiative to address deforestation and climate policy in Indonesia.
As News Editor at Engineering & Mining Journal, he covered global mining operations and worked as a writer for the International Copper Association (ICA) to showcase initiatives by corporate members on renewable energy integration, electrification, copper recycling, autonomous haulage, water stewardship and other new technology at mine sites to support sustainability and the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
He worked as a journalist for the Associated Press and newspapers in Pottsville, Pennsylvania coal country, and the Midwest as well as on the staff of Al-Ahram Weekly in Cairo, China Daily and Beijing Review in Beijing and The Jakarta Post in Indonesia. His articles have appeared in National Geographic, Barron's, World Politics Review and other outlets. He holds a degree in Print Journalism and International Relations from Boston University and is proficient in Spanish and Portuguese.
